Needless to say, this version of Joe Pro’s “Letter to the Young Women of Malolos” did not hit the desk of the addressees. Marcelo asked Rizal to rewrite the whole thing and make it in Tagalog, comprehensive, not self-centered, and not drunk-written.

Apart from Rizal’s letter, fan mails from several countries in Europe also poured in to praise and congratulate the women of Malolos. And now, maybe, you’re curious because you won’t fully get the joke unless you know about the topic.

So, this is the part where I won’t tell you about what the buzz regarding 20 Filipino-Chinese women was all about, because you did not pay attention in school and you don’t utilize Google properly.

PS: Let’s not judge JPR. When he wrote this piece, many months have already passed since he last got a reply from Leonor Rivera. C’mon. He’s just human.
